Lean for Healthcare: Clinical and Administrative Improvement is a 2-day workshop that will take place in Santa Ana, CA on February 22-23, 2012.  Instructors will include Lean experts Betsy Chang Ha, RN and  Darren Dolcemascolo.

The 2-day program will translate basic lean principles and its application to achieve the Triple Aim of the nation’s health care reform efforts. It will emphasize eliminating wastes using basic lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and A3.

About the Instructors

Betsy Chang Ha, RN:

Ms Chang Ha has over thirty years of public and private sector experience in the healthcare arena.  She is a talented healthcare consultant specializing in developing integrated healthcare delivery systems focusing on improving patient experience, promoting optimal population health outcomes, and ensuring affordable care through Lean process design. She is currently the Director of Clinical Strategic Projects responsible for implementing an integrated care team model at Monarch Healthcare as part of the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) demonstration projects.  Ms. Ha has a master’s degree in Health Care Management from California State University of Los Angeles and received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Maryland, School of Nursing. She is a California Health Care Foundation Health Care Leadership Program Fellow and a former Baldrige Examiner.  Full Bio

Darren Dolcemascolo:

Mr. Dolcemascolo has over 15 years of experience in continuous improvement as a consultant and teacher. As senior partner with EMS Consulting Group, he specializes in productivity and quality improvement through the application of lean manufacturing and lean six sigma strategies. Providing training, facilitation, and advisory services, he has helped companies in the medical, biotech, semiconductor, aerospace, consumer products, and industrial products industries undergo successful lean transformations. In addition to working directly with clients, he has trained hundreds of students through EMS Consulting Group's lean manufacturing workshops and lean certification program. Mr. Dolcemascolo has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University in the city of New York and an MBA with Graduate Honors from San Diego State University.  Full Bio
