EMS developed a custom 1/2 day 5S training
and 1/2 day hands-on 5S implementation program for a quality testing
lab within medical device company located in
Orange County, CA. EMS consultants spent the morning training a
team in the principles of 5S. In the afternoon under an EMS
consultant's supervision, the team applied what they learned in a
quality control testing laboratory. Changes included personnel
layout, tool and supplies layout, and the implementation of many visual
controls. Results included significant
reductions in distances traveled and improvements to productivity.
