Quick Changeover Reducing time spent in setup is likely a goal of any manufacturer that has significant setup times. Changeover reduction is a bedrock of the Toyota Production System. Reducing changeovers is often one of the keys to reducing inventory: as changeover time is reduced, smaller batch sizes become possible. This month we feature three articles that should help you understand the methodologies behind quick changeover. First, we give you a case study in which changeover times have been significantly reduced. Our second article talks about utilizing a tool called EPEi for reduction of inventory through quick changeover. Finally, in our third article, we talk about some implementation techniques. The materials referenced in this newsletter will teach you more about lean. If you would like to learn more, feel free to call us at 866-559-5598 or visit our website and click on "Contact Us."
