Lean Production Control

Lean manufacturing requires a fundamental change in the way production is planned and controlled. In order to truly have a lean operation, you must connect the flow between operations using the principles of flow and pull. Applying these principles to lean production control is how truly dramatic decreases in inventory and lead time become possible.

This month we feature three articles that should help you understand more about lean production control. Firstly, we talk about lean production control using pull systems. Our second article talks about heijunka, leveling production. In our final article, we talk about production planning using a concept called EPE or EPEI.
