Value Stream Mapping

Value Stream Mapping is a concept with which many are familiar. However, very often, people have in their minds process mapping or flowcharting. While there are similarities between Value Stream Mapping and these techniques, there are significant differences. Value Stream Mapping helps us understand how value flows through an organization and where waste and its sources are. It becomes the basis for improvement.

In this month's newsletter, we feature three articles that address the topic. First, we provide an article dealing with the definition of VSM. Secondly, we talk about current state mapping. Finally, we talk about mapping a future state.
