Process Kaizen and Manufacturing Cells Process kaizen is the method by which companies eliminate waste. It is one level below flow kaizen, or value stream mapping, which is a tool for identifying and planning areas for process kaizen improvement across the entire value stream. Process level kaizen is often implemented using the kaizen blitz or kaizen event; it can also be implemented over a period of time. This month we feature three articles that should help you understand more about process kaizen and its tools. Firstly, we talk about planning and conducting kaizen events. Our second article talks about implementing 5S, one of the first process kaizen tools that should be implemented. In our final article, we talk about the steps you need to take in order to implement continuous flow manufacturing cells. The materials referenced in this newsletter will teach you more about the importance of process kaizen. If the articles, links, and books to the left have piqued your interest and you would like to learn more, feel free to call us at 866-559-5598 or visit our website and click on "Contact Us."
