Kaizen Events

Kaizen Events have been used in the U.S. for more than a decade to implement new cell layouts, improve set-up times, and improve equipment uptime; kaizen events have also been used for improvements to administrative processes like Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Customer service.   Some organizations have enjoyed great success while others still struggle to maintain the improvements.

In this issue, we feature four articles that should help you understand more about effectively planning and conducting kaizen events.  Firstly, we talk about creating the conditions for effective kaizen.  Our second article talks about when to use kaizen events.  Our third article talks about the nuts and bolts of planning and implementing kaizen events.  Finally, we included an article on value stream mapping, which is a method for identifying projects/kaizen events based on improvement to the entire flow of information and material.

The materials referenced in this newsletter will teach you more about lean.  If you would like to learn more, feel free to call us at 866-559-5598 or visit our website and click on "Contact Us."
