Mistake Proofing Welcome to the November edition of our monthly newsletter, Learning to Lean. In this month's edition, we focus on one of the simplest yet most effective tools in the lean toolbox, mistake proofing. Announcements We have created a survey in which you can tell us what types of public workshops you would like to see us offer. Click here to take our anonymous survey. Click here for details on all of our training offerings, both on-site at your facility and public. Mistake Proofing Mistake Proofing is an important ingredient to lean manufacturing success. By preventing errors and defects, it aids in process stability, which is critical to creating continuous flow manufacturing. Mistake proofing can be applied to more than just manufacturing processes, however. Manufacturers should consider incorporating mistake proofing into their product designs to prevent products from being manufactured incorrectly or used by their customers incorrectly. Finally, mistake proofing is being applied in service organizations such as hospitals, financial institutions, and others. This month we feature three articles that should help you understand more about mistake proofing. Firstly, we give you an overview of mistake proofing including its benefits. Our second article talks about implementing mistake proofing on the manufacturing floor. In our final article, we talk about mistake proofing in product design. The materials referenced in this newsletter will teach you more about the importance of mistake proofing. If the articles, links, and books to the left have piqued your interest and you would like to learn more, feel free to call us at 866-559-5598 or visit our website and click on "Contact Us."
