Toyota's Trouble and Lean

Toyota is dominating the news of late, and that has irked many lean practitioners and teachers.  Many have tried to defend Toyota; however, we do not believe that defending Toyota is the answer.   Instead, we should examine the principles of lean and the Toyota Way and determine what impact, if any, these problems have on the future of lean manufacturing.  If Toyota's problems were caused by the principles of lean, then we need to rethink lean principles.  If, instead, Toyota's problems were caused by a failure to follow their own principles, then Toyota needs to simply begin following their own principles again.  In this month's newsletter, we feature a brief article that addresses this key issue.

The materials referenced in this newsletter will teach you more about lean.  If you would like to learn more, feel free to call us at 866-559-5598 or visit our website and click on "Contact Us."
