Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Welcome to the May edition of our monthly newsletter, Learning to Lean. In this month's edition, we focus on TPM, Total Productive Maintenance. Announcements Due to demand from previously attending organizations, we have added two new training workshop dates in June; early registration pricing ends on May 14th. On June 10, we are offering Implementing Lean: An Action Plan in Orange, CA. Implementing Lean will give you an overview of lean manufacturing plus a specific sequence of steps and initiatives comprising an action plan for achieving the productivity improvements, inventory reductions, and overall increase in cash flows that lean manufacturing provides. Topics covered include Lean Culture, Value Stream Mapping, Cellular Manufacturing, Material Flow, Lean Organization, and Kaizen Events and Tools (5-S, SMED, TPS, etc.). On June 17, we are offering Value Stream Mapping in Orange, CA. Also, on Thursday May 20th, we will be speaking at the San Diego Chapter of APICS on "Implementing 5S." TPM - Total Productive Maintenance Total Productive Maintenance is one of the keys to a successful lean manufacturing system. This month we feature three articles that should help you understand TPM. Our third article, a case study, talks about Toyota's very successful maintenance system. The materials referenced in this newsletter will teach you more about the techniques and benefits of TPM.
